The Citizens’ Empowerment Center in Israel (CECI), founded in 2003, is an apolitical, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to diagnosing systemic failures in the government system and initiating methods of “follow-up” to monitor progress toward social and political changes through research and education.
CECI aims to improve the implementation process of public decisions and empower citizens by promoting political awareness and encouraging civic involvement. The ultimate goal is ensure all citizens benefit from a well-functioning, effective and stable government.
The center runs a variety of tools to detect and diagnose failures and systemic barriers in the field of implementation of the policy and offer solutions to help improve the government’s work and achieving results that improve the quality of life of the citizens of Israel. The center operates both the means of developing knowledge and academic research, both in supervision and surveillance practice processes of public decision-implementation, and leading the public discourse, the media and the political in favor of placing the issue at the center of the agenda. These activities help to create a broad knowledge infrastructure, and integrated empirical understanding of government processes in Israel and ways to improve them.
In addition, the Center for providing advanced technological tools and innovative that help increase accountability (accountability) decision makers and public servants. These tools are designed to enhance the knowledge and participation in civic areas of activity of the public sector, and help increase trust between the systems of government and the citizens.
