According to a Government decision, in order to reduce the use of private cars for commuting to work, a designated governmental team will prepare an incentives program for encouraging the use of public transportation to places of work. The program will be implemented between the years 2013-2018 with a budget of NIS 40 million.

The decision has not been implemented due to a disagreement between the ministries that comprised the governmental team as well as due to the lack of familiarity of the writers of the decision with the transportation solutions already available at this time. In practice, a new program has not been prepared and relevant funds have not been allocated to encourage the use of public transportation.
