Israel is beset by a series of major difficulties – conflicts
with the Palestinians and the propagation of terrorism,
economic crisis, social distress – but Israel’s greatest
enemy may prove to be its inability to establish stable
governments. Successful leadership demands a system in
which each government can carry out its duties, and in
which every head of government possesses the necessary
powers to contend with the obstacles of the day. In addition,
Israeli citizens must be made aware of their democratic
rights and duties, and what alternatives lie before them. |
